Trash Pump In Operation
This diagram helps you understand the various parts and operations of the pump when it's operating.
- 1. Pump
- The QP2TH is a 2 inch trash pump. Typical dewatering applications include manholes, sceptic tanks, fast & slow seepage ditch water, silt water, mud water and muck water.
- 2. Fill Cap
- Prior to operation the fill cap needs to be removed and the pump casing filled with water. After that initial prime the pump will maintain enough water inside itself to keep its prime. The operator will not ned to re-prime it.
- 3. Discharge Port
- The QP2TH has 2 discharge ports. Connect a hose to whichever one suits the direction you want to discharge in.
- 4. Worm Clamp
- Used to secure the hoses. There should be one clamp on the discharge hose and two on the suction hose.
- 5. Discharge Hose
- A flexible 2 inch wide hose. Make sure the discharge hose is flat and kink-free before operation.
- 6. Suction Port
- This trash pump has a 2 inch suction port.
- 7. Suction Hose
- A stiff fairly inflexible 2 inch wide hose. Make sure the suction hose takes as direct a route as possible to the water source.
- 8. Clean-out cover handles
- To clean out any blockages, undo both lock knobs and grip these 2 cover-handles to remove the clean-out cover and gain access to the pump.
- 9. Drain Plug
- Remove this plug to drain water from the pump.
- 10. Clean-out Cover
- Removethis cover to gain access to the clean-out area.
- 11. Lock Knobs
- Turn both knobs anti-clockwise to release cover and clockwise to secure the cover.
- 12. Strainer
- Always attach a strainer to the suction hose to prevent objects larger than the pump can handle from clogging the pump. The strainer should be positioned so that it remains below water at all times.
